Location: Manurewa, Auckland
Industry: Residential
System Installed: 9.5 kW JA Solar bifacial array & 6 kW Deye inverter
Project Date: July 2025
Installer: Solar Hub NZ Limited
Project Background
Faced with rapidly escalating power bills and a desire to shrink his household’s carbon footprint, this Auckland homeowner explored solar as a long-term solution. A preliminary energy audit showed significant daytime usage—perfect conditions for on-site generation. The customer also wanted to future-proof his home for their children, ensuring long-term energy independence and stability in an uncertain energy market.
The Solar Hub Solution
After a detailed roof survey and load analysis, Solar Hub proposed a ≈9.5 kW system featuring 21 JA Solar 450 W bifacial double-glass panels paired with a Deye 6 kW inverter.
Key Design Features:
Feature | Benefit |
Bifacial panels | Harvest reflected light for extra output on bright NZ summer days |
String-optimised layout | Minimises shading losses across multiple roof faces |
Long-life warranties | 25-year product & 30-year performance on panels, 10-year on inverter |

Projected Outcome & Results
Over 70% of the home’s annual energy needs will now be met by solar.
First-year bill reductions are forecast above 80%, with payback in four years and total system ROI is 850%
Lifetime savings are projected well north of six figures—enough to cover multiple home upgrades or accelerate mortgage repayments.
Environmental impact: over one tonne of CO₂ avoided every year, equal to planting more than 250 native trees or taking a family car off the road for well over 120,000 km.
From high bills to high impact—this Auckland home now runs on sunshine. If you are interested in going solar or have any questions, feel free to contact us or get a free quote.
